Imphal, May 26 2016:
Kamjong Development Committee (KDC), Ukhrul has ex-
pressed gratitude to the troops of 31 Assam Rifles, Chassad/
Kamjong for their relentless service of clearing the landslide
debris off the BRTF road.
On the May 22 and 23, Kamjong BRTF road was
blocked by landslide at three locations.
A team of Assam Rifles led by its officers immediately
rushed to the affected sites and restored connectivity.
Stating that villagers in Kamjong area are facing prob-
lems of irregular power and water supply, KDC said that
the staff members at Kamjong Sub-Power Station are hardly
available to address the public grievances.
After a landslide
snapped the water supply lines in August last, the villagers
have been facing water crisis for nearly a year.
Repeated
appeals to the authorities concerned have failed to yield
positive result.
KDC also expressed concern over the absence of offi-
cials in Kamjong Community Health Centre and said that
the absenteeism has caused great inconvenience to the
public.
Authorities concerned should ensure that the grievances
of the people are addressed by initiating required steps, it
added.
