Tamphasana, who has been suffering from mycetoma since 2006 after giving birth to her third child, is being treated at JNIMS since few weeks back.
Tamphasana also thanked the Managing Director of PSD Socio Economic Livelihood Finance (micro finance) and Ultimate Art, Angom Karna of Singjamei Mathak Chongtham Leikai who provided financial assistance to her and two other women patients Khaythailiu of Namkaolong village, Tamenglong district and Th Rebika of Upokpi, Bishnupur district who were admitted in the hospital.
A Karna expressed that the financial assistance was provided after the 140 strong staff of PSD Socio Economic Livelihood Finance (micro finance) and Ultimate Art contributed to give some forms of help and support to the three women patients.
Dr Deben stated that many such cases may be there in other parts of the State.
JNIMS will work to provide free medical care to patients belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and a survey will be launched shortly to find out such cases.
"JNIMS is not only for the rich and well to do families but also for the poorest of the poor and JNIMS strive to become one of the best medical care service providers in the entire Northeastern States," Dr Deben said.
He further stated that Khaythailiu of Namkaolong village was in bad shape following a failed delivery case some two years ago.
A dedicated team of doctors, surgeons and nurses retrieved the patient on May 12 and since then, Khaythailiu has been given proper medical care and attention.
As a result she improved tremendously, he added.
Mention may be made that the condition of Tamphasana (37) of Sagolband Tera Keithel Sapam Leirak who has been suffering from various ailments was brought to limelight by media reports following which a team of dedicated doctors under the leadership of Director of JNIMS Dr L Deben has been treating free of cost at JNIMS.
