Taking serious note of functioning in the mobile phone section of BSNL, All Manipur Students� Union (AMSU) has decided to put certain restrictions with immediate effect, said publicity and information secy of the students� body N Amitkumar in a statement.
Accordingly issuance of forms for mobile phone connection and Sim cards would cease till improvement in the service, it said.
Out of the stipulated 8000 Sim cards to be issued, forms for pre-paid mobile phone connections are being issued without any limit, the students� body charged, adding that this amount to looting the poor people of the State.
On other alleged discrepancies, the students� body asserted that although the BSNL authorities claimed to have issued Sim Cards of Pre-paid mobiles till B-series, yet some people are seen having Sim cards of the C-series.
This has caused serious apprehension as to whether the BSNL officials are selling them in black, the students� body said.
