In separate cases of motor accidents four persons, including a middle age woman, have been killed and one sustained injuries in the last 24 hours.
Out of three persons riding a Baja Pulsar motorbike two died on the spot when a Tata truck rammed at them in Khonghampat area at around 7 pm today.
Initial report indicates that the deceased as well as injured - hospitalised at RIMS - might be from Kalapahar area.
Bodies of the deceased retrieved by Sekmai police personnel have been deposited at RIMS morgue for identification and medical procedures.
In another motor mishap a 38 year old woman was killed when a school bus knocked her down while riding a bicycle at Sangakpham bazar at around 8.30 am today.
The deceased woman has been identified as Khumbongmayum Joymati of Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai.
The body has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS Morgue.
Meanwhile, over 20 passengers suffered injuries of varying degrees when the bus they were travelling on turned turtle at around 3.30 pm at near Kha Potsangbam bridge today.
The passenger bus (MN01/0617) was bound for Thanga.
According to eyewitness accounts, the bus in high speed fell into a roadside ditch while trying to overtake another passenger carrier.
On the other hand, one mason worker failed to respond to emergency treatment while his companion suffered injuries after the two, who were heading home on a bicycle after the day's work, were rammed at by a vehicle at around 5.30 pm yesterday.
The mishap took place at Patsoi Lamkhai.
Type of the vehicle involved in the accident could not be established due to darkness as the same also pressed on the accelerator after the mishap.
Identity of the victim has been established as one Khundrakpam Ingocha (41) of Sairem Khul and the injured as Irom Raja (24) of haorang Khunou.
Local residents, who reported to have heard the crashing sound and rushed from their homes, found the two laying by the roadside.
