Legal awareness programme

Imphal, February 16 2016:
A one-day legal awareness programme organ-
ised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Tamenglong
in association with Tamei Cultural Liuchiu Society (TCLS) and
sponsored by Manipur State Legal Services Authority
(MASLSA) was held on February 14 at Tamah village, under
Tamei subdivision, Tamenglong district with Aribam
Noutuneshwari Devi, CJM, Tamenglong cum secretary of DLSA
and Animbou Pamai, chairman of Tamah village as chief guest and
functional president respectively.
Advocate Rakesh Meihoubam, director of Human Rights
Law Network (HRLN), advocate Th Premlata Devi, assistant
director of HRLN and NK Job Newmai, president of Liangmai
Naga Students' Union were the resource persons and they
spoke on various topics such as domestic violence, right to
education, various Central sponsored schemes, PDS, legal &
ethical issues, role of civil society organisations etc.
The programme was attended by about 200 people from the
said village including church leaders, village authority leaders,
women society, youth and students, according to a press
release issued by the secretary of TCLS.
