Cabinet okays 2000 teachers posts

A Cabinet meeting held today has agreed to appoint 1582 Primary Teachers and another 419 Graduate Teachers.
Apart from regularising 48 contract Nurses of JNIMS, the State Cabinet resolved to create 234 regular post of staff nurses in JNIMS, according to Government spokesman Moirangthem Okendro.
He said that a tentative budget for 2016-17 would be tabled in the forthcoming State Assembly session.
Recruitment of Primary Teachers and Graduate Teachers would be based on their academic performance (80 per cent) and their performance in viva-voce (20 per cent) .
In-service ad-hoc and contract teachers would be given one-time age relaxation and they would be allowed to apply for recruitment exercise.
The Cabinet meeting further agreed to make direct recruitment against 117 Grade IV posts in School Education Department, 110 Chowkidars, two peons, six drivers and 11 lad attendants, Okendro added.
