Skeleton recovered at Sangkhumai

Senapati, February 16 2016:
A team of Mao police led by SI Rang K Maram
has recovered skeletal remains believed to be of an elderly person
from the deep jungles between Barak river and Sangkhumai vil-
lage along Maram-Peren road.
The body is highly decomposed
and is beyond recognition, our correspondent reports.
After being alerted by hunters of Sangkhumai village about
the body on Saturday evening, a team of Mao police rushed
to the spot which is about 4 kms downwards from Maram-
Peren road, 32 kms from Senapati district hqs.
The team reportedly found a ten rupees note and a bus
ticket for Imphal to Guwahati with the date already worned out
beside the decomposed corpse.
Family members of a missing man named Dinesh Burman
of Liangmei Taphou came for verification but have reportedly
ruled out that the deceased was not Dinesh.
