Loika Loikum team back home

Imphal, January 19, 2012:
After successful performance of Loika Loikum opera at the 14th Bharat Rang Mahotsav organized by National School of Drama, New Delhi, a 25-member team of Rhythms of Manipur returned to Imphal.
Based on the immortal love story of Khamba, an apparent Orphan but rightful claimant to the throne of Khuman kingdom and Princess Thoibi of Moirang kingdom, two shows of the 2 hours and 10 minutes long opera, was performed to thunderous applause, first at 2.30 pm and second at 6 pm on January 13 at NSD.
Following public demand, Department of Modern Indian Language and Literature Studies, Delhi University also joined hands with Manipuri Students' Association, Delhi (MASAD) in organizing a special show of the same opera at the auditorium of the University on January 14. The opera has been directed by Goshe Meitei and the music has been scored by Haobam Nisheshwor Singh.
