Imphal, January 19, 2012:
eacting to the report of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) who alleged that the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) indulged in extortion activities, the proscribed UG group UNLF in a statement clarified that the claim of the NIA was false and it was meant to defame UNLF in the eyes of the public.
Stating that the NIA was specially instituted to suppress the liberation movements in North East India and Kashmir, UNLF stated that such acts and claims of the NIA are mere propagandas of the agency to defame the liberation movement.
Even though, the Indian government spends a lot of money on NIA to root out the revolutionary organisations in the NE states, especially in Manipur, they are unable to do anything noticeable against the UNLF and the ongoing liberation movement apart from terrifying innocent farmers, entrepreneurs, sympathisers and common people.
Since the past many years, UNLF has been indulging in building a sound economic environment in the state by adopting a National Economic Policy through Small and Medium Enterprises.
On the other hand, the Indian government is not taking up any economic development programme in the state with an aim to suppress the state under their colonial rule.
It is one of the secret agenda of the India government to shut down AEGIS which not only provide employment opportunities to the people of the state but also introduced local produce of fruits and vegetables to the outside world on charges of receiving funds from UNLF.
Now it has become a well known fact to all the people of the state how the Indian government is trying to suppress the people of Manipur, it added.
