CCpur, August 08 2017:
The JAC against killing of Thangkhanlun yesterday began a sit-in in front of Churachandpur police station demanding the fulfilment of their memorandum while the ZRO, one of whose cadre is the sole accused has suspended the tainted cadre following the expiry of their weeklong deadline to surrender .
The JAC after due consultation decided to hold a sit-in-protest at various places, first in front of the police station and at other crucial places subsequently, to underscore the conditions it had laid down to claim the body.
Thangkhanlun reportedly succumbed after he was subjected to intense grilling after his alleged involvement in a Rs 10 lakh theft case was established from CCTV footage.
Meanwhile, the ZRO has today ordered suspension of the main accused in the case along with the cadres who have gone hiding with him, citing the official notification of 28 July where it denied the organisation's involvement in the case and the August 1 notification for surrender within 6 days.
As the cadres failed to turn themselves in 'you all stand suspended' as desired by the cabinet as well as the defence secretary said a statement issued by TK Zomi, director OPS, ZRO's ministry of defence.
