NSCN-K boycotts Indian Independence Day in Naga Territories

8: Proscribed group NSCN-K, which had abrogated cease fire with the government of India has boycotted the Indian Independence Day.
In a press statement, the outfit appealed all Nagas to restrain from attending the Indian Independence day celebration.
"Our country is under coercive occupation, we must employ every means to resist and defy the illegitimate foreign rule and expose the " hollowness of the so hallowed " Indian democracy that uses atrocious military might to crush and suppress the rights and identity of the indigenous people', the statement said.
The statement also added that since the last six-seven decades, the GOI had been continuing her relentless onslaught all over Naga country through massive military deployment empowered with unethical and inhuman AFPSA, Disturbed Area Act, Terrorist tag etc.
The NSCN-IM said expel the occupational authority from Naga soil.
"Though thousands of Nagas have perished, thousands have been martyred, maimed and scarred for life yet thousands more will rise to continue the battle until our God given freedom is retained", the statement said.
