Many condemn threat on AAMSU and MSPA leaders

A public meeting was organised against the alleged threat on the leaders of All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) and Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Assam (MSPA) allegedly by members of KCP, Peoples War Group Marxist at Itkhola, Silchar today .
The apex body of Manipuris in Assam, Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Students’ body AAMSU, CSOs leaders along with Meira Paibis have strongly condemned the act .
The meeting asserted that on August 4, AAMSU general secretary Khangjrakpam Krishnamohon received a message through Whatsapp where a person who identified himself as a member of KCP accused the Union of creating hindrances towards KCP's work and taking up tasks which are against KCP .
The message further allegedly warned the general secretary Krishnamohon and president Pangabam Nilkanta of the Union to come to Nepal before August 10 and clarify their mistakes or face severe consequences in case the Union fail to follow the instruction .
Meanwhile, the meeting further asserted that KCP allegedly phoned MSPA general secretary Professor Ngangom Basanta Kumar and warned not to let AAMSU conduct any meetings in the Parishad and also allegedly threatened dire consequences if their instruction is not heard .
The meeting was attended by AAMSU president Pangabam Nilkanta, AAMSU advisor H Babu, CoCPIN Chairman Saikhom Kamlakanta and Manipuri Benevolent Society Assam president IS Thingom as dignitaries .
The meeting also decried the interference of KCP in the conflict between All Assam Manipuri Youths Association (AAMYA) and AAMSU .
AAMSU, MSPA, Manipuri Youths Front Assam, MYFA, CoCPIN, Athouba Ningshing Lup, All Assam Manipur Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, Barak Valley Apunba Meira Paibi Lup and other CSOs have jointly appealed the CSOs, Students' Union and Meira Paibi organisations of Manipur to intervene regarding the matter.
