Imphal, August 08 2017:
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesperson as well as MLA of Thangmeiband Constituency, Kh Joykisan has demanded the authority concerned not to remain silent regarding the unethical auctioning of alleged defunct vehicles of Imphal Municipal Corporation (IMC) and the withdrawal of large amount of funds despite little to no completion of developmental works or projects for ward number 3 under the IMC, and to take up necessary actions against those involved .
Speaking to media persons at Congress Bhawan today, Joykisan lauded the State Government for reportedly taking up steps to investigate the auctioning of eight vehicles of the IMC and also for directing the vehicles auctioned off to be brought back at the earliest. However, he demanded the State Government to investigate and clarify regarding the tender of the auction process, whether it was included in two dailies or not, whether it went through DIPR or not etc, and to take up befitting actions against those involved in any unethical practice during the process.
Joykisan pointed out that the tender notice was printed in one of the dailies on May 22 and in another on May 23, the next day.
"However some inconsistencies were discovered regarding the notice with some editions of the same newspapers having the notice while some did not and the same issue was brought up in the recent State Assembly session where MAHUD Minister himself had admitted that there were some inconsistencies", he claimed .
On the other hand, Joykisan demanded the authority concerned to refrain from remaining silent regarding the alleged withdrawal of huge amount of developmental funds despite little to no work in IMC's ward number 3 .
He stated that the developmental and construction works have started again despite the MAHUD Minister's and the Chief Minister's assurance to investigate the matter and to provide regular reports.
Expressing disappointment, Joykisan further accused the new State Government of taking up steps to protect corrupt practices and officials .
Stating that he still believe the authority concerned would safeguard its assurance made in the House, he further demanded the State Government to launch serious investigation regarding the issue and to take up necessary actions against those involved.
