One Myanmarese national has been apprehended by Assam Rifles in Manipur yesterday.
According to an Assam Rifles source, a Mayanmarese using an Indian pass-port who has been staying in Kolkata for the last four years was arrested on November 24 by the 29 Assam Rifles at a place called Tengnoupal in Manipur's Chandel district.
The Myanmarese has been identified as one Ramesh Bhandari who is a resident of Tamu in Myanmar.
Ramesh Bhandari has been masquerading as an Indian citizenand was staying in Kolkatta for 4 years and had managed to procure a passport for himself using a wrong name and address.
He had visited Myanmar and Thailand with passport.
His passport bearing machine No.F 0860251 (date of issue March 2, 2005) and one registration card (International Hospital, Guwahati) Regd - IHSL 84969 were recovered from the apprehendee and he was handed over to Tegnoupal police station yesterday itself.
He is 26 years old.
