The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Department of AYUSH and Manipur State Medicinal Plants Board would be jointly organising, AROGYA, 2009, a comprehensive healh fair on Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoepathy from November 27 to 30 at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen here.
Informing this while talking to mediapersons in his office chamber today, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ph Parijat explained that the main objective behind organising the fair is showcase the strengths and potentials of the traditional systems of medicine and to encourage medicinal plant growers.
To be funded by the Centre, necessary infrastructure in organising the fair would be provided by the ASSOCHAM and the State would arrange the doctors and other requirements, the Minister informed, adding that Governor Gurbachan Jagat would inaugurate the fair as chief guest.
Apart from 22 stalls, four Out Patient Department would also be opened at the fair where treatment would be provided to the people by 38 AYUSH doctors.
Side by side, there would be facility for conference where practioners, consumers and other stakeholders can come together and share their knowledge, the Minister informed.
Senior Director of ASSOCHAM SS Chawla, who was also present at the occasion, announced that there would be competition among the stalls and apart from providing treatment, medicines would be distributed.
