Imphal, June 21 2016:
The medical team of 41 Assam Rifles Somsai, Ukhrul, saved
the life of a snake bite victim from Sihai Khunou village,
Ukhrul, our correspondent reports.
Ngalaton Horam (30) w/o Mashangthei Horam was
admitted at the 41 AR Hospital where she was provided
necessary treatment.
After an overnight observation at the
hospital, she was discharged.
Mention may be made, Ngalaton was rushed to the
Ukhrul District Hospital immediately after a snake bit her.
But since the district hospital had no facilities to treat snake
bites she was shifted to AR hospital for treatment.
The Sihai Khunou villagers have expressed disappoint-
ment that the only Government run hospital in the district
cannot provide basic treatment to the people.
According to a report, most of the snake bite cases are
treated at the AR hospital or its clinic.
The villagers have
extended their gratitude to the AR medical team and Dr L
Singson for rendering free service to the victim.
