Imphal, June 21 2016:
Members of the All Manipur Written Test Successful Candidate 2013 Batch Police Constable Association staged a peaceful sit-in-protest at Babupara demanding immediate declaration of the recruitment result.
Earlier, the association members staged numerous protest rallies placing their demand to the State Govt to declare the results of 10287 candidates.
Addressing media persons, secretary of the association, Nandakishore said that to recruit 2000 constables in the Manipur Police (male), the recruitment process commenced in January 2013.After the results of the written examinations were declared, viva-voce for Imphal West and Thoubal district was not conducted.
After persistent protest, the authorities concerned resumed conducting the pending viva-voce for the remaining districts from May 18 to June 10 this year, he said.
With declaration of the 2013 batch still due, the State Govt has initiated steps to conduct another round of recruitment for police constables.
"Such attitude of the State Govt is more like destroying the career of 10,287 candidates," Nandakishore said.
The association has been patiently waiting for the authorities concerned to act in the larger interest of the candidates.
He added that the association would further continue to protest unless their demands are met.
Meanwhile, a select team of the association met the Chief Minister today and further agreed to conduct another round of meeting on July 4 regarding the declaration of results.
