Birds saved

Imphal, January 29 2016 :
An eagle was saved from the jaws of death by
two generous persons identified as Oinam Shantikumar of
Leimapokpam Mayai Leikai and Kangujam James of Waheng
Khuman Maning Leikai.
The duo found the bird flightless in a bush at Isok
Chingphu Achouba hillock and took it all the way from
Nambol to Claws and Paws Veterinary Clinic, Imphal for
treatment.
The bird got an old wound with broken wing
probably from an airgun shot and seems starved from the day
it got injured.
The bird was later handed over to PFA, Manipur by them
and now the bird is at the animal shelter of PFA for necessary
care.
In another event, Thounaojam Jiban of Wabagai Leirak
Achouba, a rifleman at 16 Assam Rifles, Shangshak, Ukhrul
handed over a falcon, which was brought from Shangshak to
PFA at AR Transit Camp, Imphal, but unfortunately, the bird
died, a statement issued by PFA, Manipur said.
