Body claimed

Following an understanding arrived between family members and hostel authority, body of the 14-year-old student of Little Master Higher Secondary School, Takhellambam Somorjit has been claimed today.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club, hostel owner, M Chaoba said that an understanding was arrived at a joint meeting attended by Shamurou locals, hostel authority and family members of the deceased.
He said that the hostel authority had agreed to bear all the expenses of the customary and last rites of the boy and erect a memorial stone at Kwatha Khunjao in his name.
Somorjit's father Takhellambam Pandit said that they are willing to claim the body as there was no negligence on the part of the hostel authority regarding the death of his son.
It may be mentioned that Takhellambam Somorjit (14) s/o T Pandit of Kwatha Khunjao, a student of Little Master Higher Secondary School, Shamurou drowned in Imphal river on January 27 .
His body was recovered from the river the next morning.
