Imphal, January 20 2015:
With an aim to check rampant exploitation and violence inflicted upon domestic helpers, especially Manipuri children in Delhi, the Human Rights Committee under Manipur Student's Association Delhi (MSAD) has asked the households employing Manipuri helpers as well the family members of these helpers to register with the committee starting January 26, 2015 .
The decision came after a joint meeting was held on January 18 between the student's body and Manipuri children who have been working as domestic help at Delhi.
Details of the new initiative can be obtained from MSAD's official facebook page or its website [email protected].
The MSAD also sought support from all civil society organisations and students bodies based in Manipur and outside.
