Mao Students' Union president along with its executive members, newly elected president of MSU, village chairman and local leaders welcomed Dr S Lokhon, new Principal of Hill College yesterday, Tadubi, according to a statement issued by MSU president Joseph Adani.
Dr Lokhon while interacting with MSU and social activists assured of extending utmost effort for the development of the college, said the statement.
Acknowledging the vision and objective of the new Principal, MSU in the statement urged all the concerned to co-operate with Dr Lokhon for the welfare of the college.
Meanwhile, Hill College Students' Union, Tadubi in a separate statement issued by its general secretary L Athikho said that the sudden transfer of Dr A Surenjit Singh, Principal of Hill College Tadubi was totally against the aspiration of the College students.
The transfer order was issued just a month and a half back.
The transfer order was issued by manipulating the date at a time when transfer and reposting of Government employees were prohibited by a decision of the State Cabinet, said the statement.
The statement alleged that the new Principal S Lokhon Singh with the help of some unknown people who are not students of the College broke open the Principal office's door without anyone's knowledge after the office hour on January 19 .
Expressing extreme shock on learning the incident, the College Students' Union has resolved to lock the Principal's office until their legitimate demand is conceded, the statement said.
L Athikho also urged the authority concerned to cancel the transfer and posting order of Dr A Surenjit Singh within January 31.The statement also warned that the authority concerned would be responsible of any untoward incident in case their demand is not met.
