Tamenglong, January 20 2015:
Dr Namjupou Panmei, DIO (Family Welfare), Tamenglong has declared that there is no case of polio in Tamenglong.

However, migrants from neighbouring countries might have import the dreadful disease.
He informed that this year the fund for polio immunization campaign in Tamenglong was reduced and numbers of booths also reduced to 255.However, the department opened 280 booths to cover 18500 children below five years of age.
Last year, as many as 270 booths were opened and 16200 children out of the targeted 16680 were covered.
The reason for the shortfall was due to negligence by the public as the campaign has been going on for the last 20 years, he said.
"As there is no polio case in the district, people have ignored the campaign," Dr Panmei said, while appealing to the people to join hands and help in eradicating polio.
It may be noted here that 13 Assam Rifles also joined the campaign and one booth was opened at the common ground of Mini Stadium, Tamenglong, where many children below the age of 5 years were given free polio vaccination.
