Medical camp held

Imphal, April 05 2019:
Tamei Battalion under aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division organized a free health checkup camp in Sharon Home, Tamei on Apr 1 .
60 children including boys and girls from the hostel were attended by the unit RMO & his team, said a statement of PIB (Defence Wing) .
Sharon Home is a hostel that houses students from remote villages who are currently pursuing their education in Tamei, Langmei &Tamah.
There are presently 36 boys & 24 girls with an age span of 6 to 16 years, sheltered by Akin, who had set up this care centre for school going children along with her late husband in the year 2013 .
Following her husband's demise in the year 2017, she has taken a bold stance to continue to support and provide opportunities to the future generation of Manipur, said the statement.
Issues such as adolescent health, basic hygiene and sanitation, were discussed.
Students were screened for eye & ENT diseases.
An interactive session was also organized about malaria and other water borne diseases, said the statement.
