Imphal, December 15 2013:
The All Manipur Road Transport Drivers' and Motor Workers' Union (AMRTDMWU) has urged the State Government to take up necessary step to end the ongoing office picketing stir being enforced by various student bodies of Jiribam with effect from December 14 .
In a press release, the union said that around 400 trucks are being stranded at Jiribam as shipment of essential commodities is not possible because of closure of the concerned Government offices.
Saying that the demands made by students are justified, the union urged the Government to bring a solution at the earliest.
It also urged the striking students to relax shipment of essential commodities sensing different inconveniences being faced by the stranded drivers.
