Source: The Sangai Express
Jiribam, December 15 2013:
Unidentified armed persons attacked a camp of labourers engaged in the construction work of Imphal-Jiribam railway line at Thingou village, Tamenglong district
last evening.
The camp which came under attack belongs to ECI Company and it was occupied by labourers engaged in drilling tunnel no 11-A .
One hill based UG group attacked the camp using automatic rifles and grenades at around 5 pm yesterday.
Although there was no human casualty, the attack left one excavator (JCB) badly damaged.

Notably, the particular camp was guarded by 6th IRB.
However, the daring attack made by the UG cadres in spite of the presence of IRB personnel has created a sense of insecurity among companies and labourers engaged in the railway project.
A few months back, some unidentified persons triggered a bomb blast inside another camp leaving many labourers injured.
