Imphal, December 15 2013:
Noting that all religions in the world preach love and respect for mankind, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has appealed to the people to propagate the good religious teachings and create a peaceful and harmonious State.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of Chingkham Baptist Church at Chingkham Kabui Village in Thoubal district today.
Gaikhangam further observed that a devout person would never divert from the teachings of his or her religion.
The person who takes up violent activities in the name of religion is indeed an outcast of his own religious community.

All people must understand their own religions and propagate the good teachings to others so that there is no misunderstanding and tension among them, the Deputy Chief Minister asserted.
He also announced that four new police outposts would be opened up at Chingkham Village, Waithou, Imphal Barrage and between Sora and Kakching Lamkhai in Thoubal district soon.
A monolith of Silver Jubilee Celebration was also unveiled by Rev L Timothy along with presentation of gifts to married women of the village on the occasion.
