Imphal, December 15 2013:
Regretting loss of 'regular warriors' Corporal Seikholet Kipgen and Troop Striker Jangminlal Haokip for the sake of "Kukiland" on December 11, the Kuki National Front (Nehlun) said the particular day will be remembered and observed every year as the "Day of Stepping Stone" in the revolutionary movement.
The actual outcome of the incident shows the fruit of signing trilateral SoO pact with the Governments of India and Manipur that totally fulfilled their desire of suppressing the true nationalism and its fighters, said a KNF (N) statement issued the armed group's Information and Publicity in-charge Gogou Vaiphei.
Stating that the incident proved that SoO pact will not bring any amicable solution to the problems of any insurgent group, in India in particular, Gogou urged all organisations who are SoO signatories to pull out from the pact without further delay and sincerely work toward the revolutionary goal by crushing elements inimical to the interest of the people in general and the revolutionary organisations in particular.
We urge all non-SoO groups to come forward and unitedly fight for separate entity by joining hands with us, exhorted the KNF(N) noting 'It's not a surprise that the news of the fall of Troop Striker Jangminlal Haokip was firstly informed by cadres of KNF (P) namely Bronlee and Casper to the Special Task Force Commander of KNF (N) namely KS Elson through mobile phone.
Recounting that both Bronlee and Casper had endured much suffering in the hands of KNF (N) cadres during 'our first fight', Gogou quoted the duo as saying "Sir your right hand is chopped off now" .
Claiming that the combined troops involved in the December 11 incident were led by a section of KNF (P) cadres as they don't have the strength and might to venture into 'our' area of operation without the assistance of security forces, Gogou termed the rivals' act as cowardly, "Sleeping with the Enemy", and betraying the nation and its movement.
Cautioning that similar misfortune befalling upon KNF (P) cannot be ruled out as there is possibility of security force turning their guns on them (KNF/P), the KNF (N) functionary suggested that KNF (P) repent for their misdemeanour by withdrawing from the SoO pact and fight the Government security forces to fulfil people's aspiration for Kuki Nation.
In the case of Khaiminthang Kipgen, we clarify that he is not related to this organization in any way as per our internal investigation, maintained Gogou with reference to State dailies, based on claim by security forces, reporting that he (Khaiminthang) was an active member of the KNF (N) .
Asserting that Khaiminthang's name is not in the record as he didn't have any basic military training to be termed him KNF (N) our cadre, he also cited some eye-witnesses' account of the said individual arrested in civil dress but the lifeless corpse later produced in full camouflage/combat dress, an act totally against the Geneva Convention.
With regard to some civil society organisations of Sadar Hills allegedly tolerating or submissive to threats and dictates of KNF (P), Gogou demanded that the said NGOs state their stand within a week failing which KNF(N) might be compelled to initiate necessary measures.
