Power shutdown
Sangaiprou 33 KV sub-station will remain shutdown from 10 am to 4 pm tomorrow (Dec 11) for checking of 11 KV panel, according to MSPDCL authority.
Human Rights Day cum legal awareness prog
The Legal Aid Clinic, Jiribam under the sponsorship of the District Legal Services Authority, Imphal East organised a legal awareness cum Human Rights Day programme at the guest house of Jiribam PWD today, reports our correspondent.
The programme was graced by Advocate A Biren Singh, Janggoulen Haokip, CJJD/JMFC, Jiribam and L Jaminikanta Singh, Assistant Professor, Jiri College as presidium members.
Topics like human rights, child rights and women rights were deliberated during the programme.
ANT appeals
The Anal Naga Tangpi has appealed to the General Manager of District Industries Centre, Chandel to extend the last date of submission of application form for the ongoing Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) .
It also requested to reduce the training fee to a nominal rate.
SDWA condemns
The Senapati District Women's Association (SDWA) has vehemently condemned the alleged murder of L Poumai.
Extending solidarity to the bereaved family members, the SDWA demanded the State Government and Odisha Government to initiate immediate probe.
In a statement, SDWA also expressed condemned the act of some miscreants who reportedly looted a huge amount of money from an ATM booth at Senapati.
It urged the people to jointly take up measures to prevent such crime in society.
Social service
Members of Kanglei Economic Development Organisation (KEDO) and Lamlong Keithel Phambi Nupi Lup organised a social service at Lamlong bazar today morning in connection with the Nupi Lan observance day.
Councillor of IMC Ward No 23, Imphal East, Birjit provided a JCB for the social service.
Lamlong bazar and drains around the area were cleared.
Nupi Lan observation
The 76th Nupi Lan Observation Committee will be observing Nupi Lan function on December 12 at THAU ground from 10 am, according to a statement issued by the convenor of the committee.
The committee further appealed to all sections of society to attend the said function.
International Manipuri Mothers' Association is also going to organize Nupi Lan function on December 12 at Kangla.
The function will be marked by paying of floral tributes to the brave mothers at 12.30 pm, according to a press release issued by the president of the association.
Directorate demand for Muslims
Muslim Council Manipur (MCM) organized a meeting of its executive members at its office today.
The meeting endorsed the demand of seperate directorate for minority Muslims by AMMOCOC.
The secretary of MCM, Haji Arafat Ali said that over 70% Muslims are supporters of the present Congress Government and expressed hope that the Government will fulfill the demand of AMMOCOC for a separate directorate.
State election commission notifies
State Election Commission, Manipur has issued notification in regards to the 18 Municipal Councils and 8 Nagar Panchayats elections.
The last date of filing nomination is December 14, date of scrutiny - December 15, and laste date for withdrawal of candidatures is December 17 .
DST invites applications
Directorate of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Manipur has invited applications for short-term result oriented research projects under the R&D and Biotechnology scheme of the DST, Manipur.
The details can be downloaded from the website www.manipur.nic.in.
The last date for submission is January 6, 2016, according to a press release issued by the director of DST.
MCFI annual meet
Maring Christian Fellowship Imphal (MCFI) is going to organize the XVII annual meet at MBC Centre Church, Imphal on December 12 from 10.30 am to 2.30 pm.
All the Maring leaders, Government and private employees, social workers, students and parents are informed to attend the meet, according to a release issued by the general secretary of MCFI.
