Stating that the State Government had not executed various development works and schemes funded by Union DoNER Ministry during the tenures of UPA-I and II properly, BJP Manipur Pradesh secretary M Ashnikumar has said that the Centre has taken serious note of the matter.
This was disclosed to BJP State president Thounaojam Chaoba by DoNER Minister Dr Jitendra Singh during a meeting with the latter in New Delhi yesterday, Ashnikumar claimed.
He said that BJP State president Thounaojam Chaoba, who is currently in the National capital, has met different Union Ministers.
Dr Jitendra Singh told Th Chaoba that no desirable result of the schemes funded by the Centre during the periods of UPA-I and II could be seen in the State.
Moreover, it has come to light that the State Government had not implemented various schemes on water supply, roads, bridges, power sector and infrastructure on time despite providing a huge fund.
Taking serious note of the matter, the Union Minister also told Th Chaoba that these schemes would be reviewed thoroughly and no irregularity would be overlooked.
On the other hand, the Centre is still ready to provide fund to the State Government for the needful projects, Ashnikumar said.
Saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving emphasis to natural resources, culture and sports for the State, Ashnikumar said that two Union Ministers would visit the State every month.
Informing that the Centre would also regularly send Secretaries, Joint Secretaries and other Central Government officials to the State to review various development works and schemes, Ashnikumar said that a Central Government's office would be opened in the State for this purpose within a few days.
Ashnikumar added that Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawar Chand Gehlot and Union Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Ramvilas Paswan would visit the State on February 14 .
Programmes for this visit have already been prepared, he added.
