The All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has strongly condemned the gruesome murder of a village chief, Moshil Maring s/o late Modar Maring who was beaten to death by some unidentified gunmen after he was abducted from Moreh near Gate No 2 on March 8.The student body demanded the culprits to identify themselves and give necessary clarifications on the matter.
Several other student organisations had also strongly condemned the killing of Moshil Maring earlier.
The statement issued by Adani David Choro, speaker of ANSAM, said that various plights of the people of hill areas viz, lack of developmental matters and the law and order situation should be adressed immediately by the State Government.
ANSAM said that it has taken note of the absence of SDO, Tamei-subdivision and the poor condition of the Primary Health Centre of Tamei which had been highlighted by the Tamei Zone of Zeliangrong Students Union.
Meanwhile, various tribal student organisations in the hill districts of Manipur are pulling up their socks to thwart all corrupt practices during the forth-coming class-X examination.
Reports said that the tribal student bodies that the examination is conducted in a fair manner in all their areas of jurisdiction.
There had been some student organisations in the past assisting the examination invigilators in checking the examinees from copying during the Board examination.
