Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) has deplored the failure of the State Government and the district authorities with regard to development in the areas of Fishery, ITI and Veterinary and Animal Hus-bandry for the last many decades in Tamenglong district.
The of fishery office and the ITI buildings are now in a state of ruin and have be come cowsheds due to prolong negligence, information and publicity secretary of ZU Akham Gonmei said in a statement.
Fishery ponds are also abandoned as no fish rearing activities have been taken up for the last many years.
Besides there is no official to run the administration of the Fishery and Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Departments in the district, he lamented.
It is questionable as to who is responsible for all this failure and who are mismanaging the affairs if any annual sanction of fund are there at all ?, he asked.
Demanding that the Fishery and Veterinary buildings and Fishery ponds be allotted to the public or any active social organisations or department along with the plots, the ZU statement said that public would no longer tolerate such negligence on the part of the Govt and the district administration concerned.
