Under the Government of Manipur, Education Department (S) would be observing National Science Day at TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal and Hindi Secondary School, Kangla-tongbi on February 28 and 29 respectively.
During the observance function to be held at TG Higher Secondary School on February 28, written and oral quiz competition on the them of Planet Earth would be conducted for the students of class XI and XII while on the occasion of the observance function to be held at Hindi Secondary School, Kanglatongbi, a seminar would be organised on the same theme.
Interested students who would like to participate in the written and oral quiz competition at TG Higher Secondary School forwarded their names through their respective school principals to the Science Unit, Directorate of Education (S), Lamphelpat within February 23, according to a statement issued by Director of Education (S) M Harekrishna.
In another statement, Director of Education (S) informed that the Education Department (S) would be conducting the Competitive Scholarship Examination and National Merit Scholarship Examination for students of class V and VIII from April 14 to 19 at Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School, Imphal.
Interested students who scored not less than 50 percent marks in the last examination may collect the application forms and other related details from the offices of the Zonal Education Officer or DI concerned by showing the mark-sheet and filled in forms should be submitted within March 10 .
Science prog postponed: Science motivational programme for school students supported by NCSTC, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, which was scheduled to be organised by Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) from February 21 to 29 has been postponed, according to a circular issued by Executive Director of MASTEC Th Surendranath Singh.
Exact date of the programme will be notified on the day of the screening test, the circular said, while informing interested schools to submit particulars of best four students of Class IX along with their photographs and one science teacher guide to the office of MASTEC on or before March 4 .
Result declared : Results of the 9th State level Accountancy Competition, organised by Association of Commerce Alumni (ACA), Department of Commerce, Manipur University has been announced.
In the XI Commerce category, Apollo Th of Don Bosco College, Maram bagged 1st prize while H Athili and GO Jangdinlong of the same college got 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
In the Class XII category, Vunghoihnuam of Rayburn College, Churachandpur got 1st prize while Niangbiak Hoih from the same college clinched 2nd prize.
The 3rd prize of the category went to Johnson Thangjam of C C Higher Secondary School, Imphal.
Three consolation prizes for each category were also announced for the competition which was held on Feb 3 .
