The United Naga Council (UNC) has appealed to all the NGOs/social organisations not to call any bandh or road blockade in view of the celebration of the annual Lui-Ngai-Ni festival, reports NNN.
The UNC release made available to Newmai News Network stated that the Naga apex body would facilitate transportations, fooding and lodging for the 50 participants of the cultural programmes from every Naga tribe who are affiliated to UNC.
The release further said that special joint mess have been arranged for VIPs, special invitees and journalists.
It also said that Naga Peoples Organisation (NPO) of the Senapati District would be the host of this year�s Lui-Ngai-Ni.
It also appealed to all the Naga village chiefs to organise Lui-Ngai-Ni in their respective villages.
Meanwhile, the Nagas are all set to celebrate the annual seed-sowing festival, Lui-Ngai-Ni at Senapati on Feb-15.This year�s Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration is purely a cultural and traditional affairs, according to United Naga Council (UNC) president Puni Modoli who told Newmai News Network that Naga tribes would display their colourful and rich cultural programmes during the celebration.
Naga folk blues and Reuben Mashangva who is popularly known as Naga Bob Dylan told NNN that he had composed number of songs to be presented on the Lui-Ngai-Ni day dedicating the Naga rich cultures.
The Naga Bob Dylan said that his song entitled "My Land and People" and "Naga Folk Blues" will be his main theme songs on the day adding that he would also drum-up numbers from Lobo, Don Williams and the likes.
Heart-throb Alvina Gonson, told Newmai News Network that she had prepared a special song for the Naga seed-sowing festival of the song entitled �Lui-Ngai-Ni� would be her main theme song.
Alvina Gonson also said that she would present pop songs to the �beat of the people� on the day.
Gonson will release her album in Mumbai shortly.
She has been the pop queen in the present days.
Another well known singer Jiangngam and his party will also join Reuben and Alvina enlightening the crowd on Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration.
Meanwhile, Manipur Governor SS Sidhu will be the chief guest of this year Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration while Manipur Outer Parliamentary MP Mani Charenamai, Nagaland Rajya Sabha MP TR.
Zeliang, Manipur Rajya Sabha MP Rishang Keishing and Lok Sabha MP from Nagaland Wangyu Konyak will be the guests of honour and UNC president Puni Modoli will be the functional president.
Miss Lui-Ngai-Ni contest will be held and the crown winner will be awarded either Rs.15,000 or 20,000.Prizes for miss photogenic, miss cat-walk etc.
will be there.
There will be prizes for first and second runners-up.
For the miss contest the UNC has said that only the Naga tribes affiliated to the UNC are qualified to contest.
