At least nine doctors and 37 employees were found absent at work during a surprise check conducted by the Principal Secretary (Health) V Chhibber at the Medical Directorate and office of the CMO today at 10 am.
The drive was taken up in consonance with the strict instructions issued by the Chief Secretary to ensure that all Govt employees are present at their place of duty on time.
Following the large scale absence, the Principal Secretary issued an explanation call to all of them on Feb 14 and if no satisfactory answer is received, the employees found absent will be given EOL (Leave without pay).
More drastic actions may be resorted for repeated offenders.
The nine doctors found absent by the Principal Secretary include Sr MO Dr H Mangi Singh, DAO I/E, Dr M Birchandra Singh (also absent from Feb 8 to 10), Dr TR Kom, DMO, I/E, (also absent from Feb 8 to 10), Dr A Shantikumar MO-CACC (also absent from Feb 7 to 10), Dr L Jamunaa Devi, Sr MO-CACC (also absent from Feb 7 to 10), Dr Lakhipyari, SMO CACC (also absent on Feb 1), Dr Ng Hemanta, SMO-CACC (also absent on Feb 1), Dr L Sanayaima, Drug Inspector (also absent from Feb 9 to 10), Dr RK Rupachandra Singh, Drug Inspector and another employee Purnimashi Devi (also absent on Feb 10).
