Imphal, February 11:
The wrath of a spurned woman is a well known, but a spurned man? A youth who took on the name of the KCP in his last ditch effort to stop the marriage of a girl, to whom he had lost his heart, has been rounded up by the police.
The love-lorn youth had issued a statement, under the name of the KCP, and circulated the same to the State dailies to be published.
The content of the statement was this - the marriage of the girl should be stopped, as the outfit has already decreed that the groom to be should never marry! (TSE did not publish the statement, some others did).
The groom is a close relative of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and the jilted youth had issued the statement to try and abort the marriage by taking the name of the KCP.
The youth was produced before media persons by the Imphal West SP today.
The youth, Premananda admitted before the media that he has been in love with the bride, Urmila for many years.
As Urmila was about to tie the knot with another person, he had tried to abort the marriage as a last ditch effort by issuing the statement, he said.
"We exchanged many vows," said Premananda adding, I really loved her and could not think of losing her to some one else.
SP Ibocha said that the unprecedented statement, sent his men working over time yesterday.
During a search, the police recovered two threatening letters written to Urmila earlier.
After this police visited the house of Premananda, he said.
The SP said he also recovered some other letters written by Premananda while he was in love with Urmila and a comparison of the two letters (the threatening notes and the love letters) revealed that they were written by the same man.
