Imphal, May 04 2015 :
All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) on Monday demanded resignation of Chief Minister O Ibobi and Parliamentary Secretary for MOBC Amin Shah on moral grounds for their alleged inability to provide benefits to MOBC students.
The name of one Nongyaimayum Afzal Ali was included in the MOBC list of scholarship beneficiaries of 2013/2014, but the amount of Rs 1.67 lakh to be deposited in his bank account was found withdrawn by another person , AMMSO president Farid Khan informed media at Manipur Club.
He alleged that the scholarship amount was withdrawn illegally by one Nongyaimayum Afzal, son of Riazuddin of Lilong market in Thoubal district.
Minorities and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) Director and Parliamentary Secretary Amin Shah, and the Chief Minister have been informed about the matter in writing, Khan said, claiming that AMMSO had found out the embezzlement case through RTI.
He cleared that the actual beneficiary Nongyaimayum Afzal Ali, is son of MV Sikander Ali of Lilong Tamyai Shumang in Thoubal district.
Khan demanded that the Chief Minister and the Parliamentary Secretary for MOBC should resign on moral grounds for allegedly turning the MOBC into a den of thieves.
