Challenge Cup Veteran Football : VSAC humiliate VSAN; UVSA, NCDA end in draw

Imphal, May 04 2015 : VSAC CCpur thrashed VSAN Nabul Mapal 12-0 while UVSA Lilong Chajing and NCDA Khonghampat ended in stalemate, 2-2, in the league matches of the 17th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament being played under the supervision of Manipur Veteran Football Association (MVFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung on Monday.

VSAC CCpur toyed with the helpless VSAN Nabul Mapal to pump in 12 goals and did not concede any goals.

Khaimang was the chief tormentor of VSAN with 7 goals in 5th; 18th; 27th; 29th; 34th; 41st and 47th minutes of the match.

In the one way match, Hampu also accounted for 2 goals in 13th and 24th min.

T Seihlam also found the back of VSAN twice in 35th and 37th min.

John and Alfrad contributed one goal each in 16th and 33rd min in the humiliation of VSAN and comfortably walk away with the match.

Earlier, NCDA Khonghampat strikes two goals in first half to end up sharing the honours of the match UVSA Lilong Chajing.

NCDA started the match with positive intentions and takes the leads early in 8th min through M Pari.

The lead was consolidated by L Sharat in 22nd min.

When the match seems to be heading in fovour of NCDA, UVSA pulled off all their energies and mounted series of attacks to reduce the deficit.

A Jayenta materialized the UVSA when he lapped on a defensive error and put the ball in NCDA's goal mouth in 33rd min to hand a new lease of life to UVSA team.

NCDA regrouped and thwart the numerous attacks of UVSA to hold on the lead.

However, a defensive lapse at the dying minutes undone all their effort when A Jayenta fires a stunner after quick exchanges in front of the striking zone in the 59th min.

The goal produces loud cheers from UVSA supporters and sight of relief among his teammates.
