Imphal, July 29 2015:
A crucial meeting between Indian and Myanmar regarding setting up of border haat is slated to be held in September this year at Moreh.
Official source said that the meeting scheduled to be held from Sept 6 and 7 will take a concrete decision on setting up of border haat along the border of the two neighbouring countries.
The meeting has been postponed after the Paraolon ambush where 18 personnel of the 6 Dogra were killed.
The meeting will be attended by trade related officials of both India and Myanmar apart from officials from the Ministry of External Affairs.
Officials from Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur will also take part in the meeting.
The official also said that both the countries had earlier approved setting up of border haats at Behiang and Somtal in Manipur.
The meeting will discuss about the feasibility of opening border haats at Namphalong in Myanmar and Prem Nagar, Moreh in Manipur.
Preparations have been taken up for the smooth conduct of the meeting.
The first bilateral meeting for setting up of border haat was held at Naypyitaw in 2012 .
