Khundrakpak Kendra Kanba Lup (KKKL) was formed today and essential items were distributed today to families affected inside containment zones.
KKKL was formed at an event held at Pourabi Lainingthou Puthiba Community Hall which was attended by K Ronen, president, Pourabi Yaipha Naharol Kanglup; S Ningthem, secretary; N Sellung, vice president, vice president, Pourabi Rising Star Club and L Maipak, secretary general, said a statement issued by Covid Task Force Pourabi.
The event was also attended by K Kalachand, president, Covid Task Force Pourabi and its members who all prayed to 'Lainingthou Puthiba' for the a quick ending to the pandemic and to keep everyone safe.
Speaking at the event, Electro Meetei, pradhan, Khundrakpam GP said with the ever increasing COVID-19 cases and fatalities in the state in the last couple of weeks, it has necessitated the formation of a voluntary organisation to overlook the relief work done for the locals especially those families inside containment zones.
For this very reason, KKKL was formed to take initiative of helping the people in this trying times, he added.
KKKL will work to ensure every corner of Khundrakpam AC and it will be ready to help 24/7 to help people in need.
He added that any problems or issues regarding COVID-19 pandemic will be address, for this the people of the AC can contact KKKL at 8131964091.Electro Meitei also assured that KKKL will ensure that there is no shortage of essential items and relief items in Khundrakam AC.
This, he added, is a promise KKKL is making as a mark of gratitude and support for the selfless services Chief Minister N Biren Singh is doing for the welfare of the people.
Later on essential items were provided to 9 families affected in containment zones, added the statement.
In another instance, Khundrakpam Kendra Development Committee (KKDC) and COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi distributed essential items under the supervision of MLA Th Lokeshwar.
The essential items including cooking oil, soap, lentils, sugar etc were distributed to families in and around containment zone in Pourabi.
The task force also warned that Khundrakpam AC has the highest COVID-19 cases in Imphal East and if this is not properly look after, Khundrakpam AC might face extreme deaths and cases in the coming days.
