10 LMO plants to be set up at JNIMS: CM

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has announced that 10 KL tanks of cryogenic Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) will be installed at JNIMS Hospital.
Iterating that efforts are being made to ensure there is no shortage of oxygen, the CM informed that preparations are underway to install the 10 LMO cryogenic tanks and PSA plant at JNIMS Hospital.
The 10 KL tanks will provide the capacity of 1300 jumbo cylinders, for which the Health department has made the necessary preparations.
Two tankers were dispatched from the state on May 11 to collect the oxygen tanks from Gujarat and they are likely reach Imphal on May 19 .
"Once components of the oxygen plant arrive, all required civil processes will be taken on war-footing level at JNIMS.
The oxygen plant, which will arrive within this month, would be able to provide the required oxygen immediately taking into account the stage of the ongoing works", he added.
Biren further informed that preparations for installation of Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) at JNIMS, which can produce a total of 200 cylinders per day, are also being made.
The said plant will be brought from Ahmadabad and installed as soon as possible to commence operation.
Further informing that other necessary medical equipment and medicines are being brought into the state, the CM informed that the government is continuously making all efforts to fight against the pandemic and ensure treatment of those affected.
He then urged people to strictly follow the Covid-19 SOP at all times.
