Water scarcity remain a woe of the people of Churachandpur district inspite of construction of Khuga Dam and other water projects by the authority of the state government.
In order to avail self drinking water in rural areas which is one of the most basic needs of human being, government has constructed Khuga dam apart from taking up other water supply schemes in Churachandpur District, scarcity of drinking water remains the woes of the people of the district headquarter.
In that situation when desperate situation calls for desperate solution, Rural Aid Service (RAS) NGO based at Tuiboung came to rescue some of the woes in drinking water by inaugurating Gravity Flow System (GFS) water tank at Old Gelmoul village in which RAS which was inaugurated by Holkhomang Haokip as the chief guest.This gravity flow system with a capacity of more than 1000 litres can supply water to 50 household.
The project was sponsored by RNBA/EED.
The construction started in last year.
