Manipur State Journalist Award, 2004 would be conferred to editor of Matamgee Yakairol Brozendro Ningomba.
The award would be presented to the recipient on the occasion of 66th Information and Public Relation Day function to be organized by State Directorate of Information and Public relations on November 1.The citation of the award to be presented to Brozendro read, �The editorials and news items on communal harmony and national integration of the Matamgee Yakairol for the year 2003 are found to be best in the views of the in-depth writing/analysis with clarity of the suggestions/views without being partial�.
The award carries Rs 5000 in cash along with a citation and a shawl or Inaphi.
The awardee is selected by a panel of judges headed by Director of IPR based on editorials and news items on communal harmony and national integration published during the calendar year 2003.Son of Ningombam Ibotomba and Khumukcham Ningol Ningombam Ongbi Sanahanbi, Brozendro was born on August 13, 1960 at Okram Chuthek, Kitna Panung under Imphal East district.
Brozendro began his journalistic career with Indian Express and Deccan Herald after passing BA degree from St Philomena�s College which is under Mysore University, Karnataka.
He had also worked in an English eveninger published in Karnataka besides contributing various news items.
In 1989, Brozendro worked as a reporter in Mysore Reporter published at Mysore and became the Chief sub-editor and then editor of the daily till he gave up the job in 1990.After that he joined as copy deskman in Bangalore based Taxwatch, a monthly journal, which deals mainly in taxation, trade and commerce and industries.
He also had a stint with the Mysore based popular Andolan daily as copy editor from 1991 to 1993 before returning to his home State where he made efforts for successful publication of an English journal called Orient Times.
After that from February 1995, Brozendro took up the post of the editor of Herald Tribune published from Khoyathong, Imphal.
