In a major breakthrough of the Manoj Kumar Sethi murder case, commandos of Bishnupur district police arrested a KYKL cadre linked to the cold blooded murder of the cloth trader from Kha Potshangbam yesterday afternoon at around 5.10, said sources.
The arrested person has been identified as Thokchom Brojen alias Naba alias Yuremba alias Hangba alias Hingchabi (25) s/o of Th Nimai of Kha Potshangbam.
Th Borjen is the most sought-after man of the CBI which is conducting an inquiry into the murder of Manojkumar Sethi.
Sethi (35) a Paona Bazar cloth trader was abducted by unidentified gunmen from near Ibotonsana Girls High School, Uripok on April 19 around 6.30 am while driving in his Maruti car.
The Maruti car was later found abandoned at Tera Khuraijam Leirak.
The bullet riddled body of Sethi was recovered from Elangkhangpokpi Kongjin under Waikhong PS on May 27.Mention may be made here that Vandana Karki the PRO/SP-DGSR of Manipur police had issued a press statement on May 28 informing that two KYKL cadres linked to the killing of Manojkumar Sethi had been arrested during a search operation.
The duo was identified as Athokpam Gitchandra (24) of top Mayai Leikai and Hidam Kanta alias Bishwarjit (30) of Ningthoukhong Makha Leikai.
During interrogation the duo revealed the names of six others involved in the killing.
Based on their revelations State police were on the trail of the six persons.
