Agri credit support for farmers

A programme on agriculture credit support for farmers under village agricultural information centre, Kangmong was inaugurated today at Manipur Press Club.
The programme was organised by Self Employment Voluntary Association (SEVA) .
Speaking at the occasion, secretary of SEVA Kh Chinglen said the village agricultural information centre in Kangmong was established on Sept 27, 2014.Rs 8,000 each has been extended to 50 farmers as credit linkage through the centre.
He also said that the Govt should take necessary steps to protect and preserve agriculture land of the State by implementing the Land Use Policy.
Chinglen further said that selling of agriculture land to capitalists for setting up industries and other business ventures would be a loss for all in the long run.
This would also serve as a great impediment to achieve food security to the people.
ZP member of Yarou Bamdiar Sh Nabakumar Singh; pradhan of Kangmong GP Ch Inaobi Devi; Director of ICM Dr Kh Somorendro Singh; DGM of Manipur State Cooperative Bank Ltd K Indramani Singh and chairman of NE Biographic Forum KB Engaremba also attended the programme.
