Imphal, October 01:
Reacting to the news item that one IRB rifleman was arrested while trying to extort money from a bakery in the name of the KCP and on a letter head signed by Kh Lamphel, secretary home and project-- in-charge of the outfit, Lamphel today said that the letter head was misused by certain vested interest and without the sanction of the home secretary.
In a statement, KCP said that some vested interest elements are hell bent on tarnishing the image of the revolutionary movements by making easy money in the name of the revolutionary outfits.
All revolutionary outfits should therefore join hands together to weed out such elements, said the statement and asked the people not to entertain any demand letter issued under the na-me of Lamphel for the time being.
A new letter head with a new format will soon replace the earlier one, said KCP and asked the people not to extend any monetary aid till the new letter head comes out.
Instead of progressing, the KCP has been deteriorating over the years and this is due to the handiwork of some vested interest who has come to view the outfits as a means to earn their own personal wealth and money, added the statement.
In another statement, the KCP said that the outfit has never ever entrusted Koireng to collect in its name and rubbished the claim that one third of the amount is given to Koireng while the remaining is given to one Arun of the outfit.
The statement warned all those working with Koireng to surrender to them soon or else face punitive punishment.
