CMHA scheme launched at HWC Punanamei

The Chief Minister's Health for All (CMHA) scheme for Senapati District was launched on Friday at HWC Punanamei under SDH Mao by District Health Society (DHS) Senapati.
It was attended by Dr N Shyamjai Singh, State Mission Director (SMD); Dr Premchandra Singh, SNO CMHA; Dr A Ranita Devi, SNO National Mental Health Program and Dr Pfokreho Pfoze, Director/CMO Senapati as presidium members.
Officials from SHS, DHS, health care workers, chairman and secretaries of four villages around Punanamei area also took part in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr N Shyamjai Singh stated that CMHA is a special programme launched by the State Government while adding that HWC Punanamei and HWC Punanamei have been identified to carry out the programme for Senapati district.
"As per request of the people, SMD agreed to identify one MTS and 1 Grade IV from the local population to support the Man Power of HWC Punanamei", he said.
Dr N Shyamjai Sigh further appealed to all the community to co-operate and to take the opportunity for getting better health care at their door steps.
Dr Premchandra Singh mentioned that as part of the programme, nurses and ASHAs will provide door to door service to identify 10 (NCD) diseases.
"During the process, all details of family members will be collected and monitored accordingly.
Therefore, the community and health department of the area need to work hand in hand for complete screening and follow up", he added.
Dr A Ranita expressed her concern that people don't take mental health problems as serious illnesses and said, "not all mental problems are serious but we need to get proper counselling and treated with medicine if required" .
Dr Pfokreho Pfoze urged the villagers to provide their support and co-operation for the success of the CMHA programme in the area.
Later, ASHA plus instrument, mobile phone and other consumables and non-consumables required for door to door screening were distributed to the four selected villages of HWC Punanamei and HWC Punanamei.
