Imphal, May 27:
Observing that the reported Government decision to adopt new staffing pattern and class structure from 2009 onward would certainly affect students of certain schools which run classes Nursery to X or VII where no other school exists, the Churachandpur District Teacher Association (CDTA) has appealed to the Education Minister to review the Government decision and make alternative arrangement before the policy is implemented.
In a memorandum submitted to the Minister of Education, the CDTA appealed to review the new staffing pattern of fixed number of graduates and undergraduate teachers for schools running class I-X, I-V, VI-VII and allow to continue subject teacher staffing pattern based on the number of subject teachers required for each school.
It also urged upon the Education Minister to speed up the process of DPC in the Education Department for promotion of eligible Assistant Headmasters and Graduate teachers in particular through MPSC.
Even as the seniority lists of eligible Assistant Headmasters and Graduate teachers have been submitted by district ZEOs concerned along with updated post vacancies time and again, there has been no initiative to conduct DPC in this regard till date, it decried while urging upon the Government that appointment of full-fledged Assistant Headmasters of schools be made on regular basis without any further delay.
Noting that the compilation of MGEL for some Govt schools and DI of schools, particularly for Churachandpur district is being delayed for long, the CDTA further urged upon the Minister to complete the same and to issue notification of MGEL in respect of Govt schools and DIs of Churachandpur at the earliest.
