Imphal, April 27 2015 :
Reacting to the speeches given by State Government leaders during Khongjom Day observance at Kheba hillock on April 23, the proscribed RPF has categorically stated that unification of India and Manipur was not a case of merger but annexation.
National Convention on Manipur Merger held in October 1993 resolved that the 'merger agreement' of September 21, 1949 had no legal validity and amalgamation of Manipur into India was not merger but annexation.
Had the pseudo puppet leaders of Manipur understood international law even if they have no sense of Nationalism, they would have never said that Manipur is a free State within the Indian Union.
Instead, they would have said that Manipur is an occupied territory of India, said a press release issued by the outfit's Publicity Secretary Roben Khuman.
After the 'forced merger', Manipur which was an Asiatic sovereign State throughout history was reduced to the lowest possible political status called Part C State.
Three successive five-year plan periods which were dedicated to modernisation of agriculture, establishment of heavy industries and development of service sector had already passed when Manipur was granted Statehood.
At that time, Manipur's annual budget was a trifling amount.
It was increased by some amount when Government of India heard the booming guns of the liberation movement.
The Government of India and their collaborators have been projecting the legitimate liberation movement as rooted in underdevelopment and unemployment by deliberately covering up all the historical facts which legitimise the liberation movement, Roben alleged.
Manipur's territorial area was 22,356 sq Kms when Manipur was granted Statehood 22 years after the 'forced merger'.
But today, geographical area of Manipur has shrunk to 22,327 sq Kms, the outfit asserted while questioning how the 29 sq Kms of Manipur's territory disappeared.
Given these facts, the pledge to safeguard the territorial integrity and geographical boundary of Manipur is nothing but hogwash.
Protection of political boundary cannot be done with rhetoric, it needs politics of high calibre, the outfit asserted.
The statement that Assam Rifles was entrusted to safeguard the boundary of Manipur means the boundary of Manipur is always under threat.
"They are not protecting our boundary but keeping our territory under their occupation", the outfit asserted.
It has become the bounden duty of the puppet Government to blame the revolutionary movement for all the bomb blasts which killed civilians.
But it is now everyone's knowledge that security forces were used to plant bombs every time when the people's anti-AFSPA movement gains momentum and the disturbed area status must be extended after every six months for continued imposition of AFSPA.
There were many instances where security personnel were caught carrying bombs, drugs and/or delivering demand letters.
This fact is also known to the alleged puppet rulers but they are deliberately blaming the revolutionary groups for all the bomb blasts just to discredit the liberation movement.
The outfit further called upon the masses not to listen to the puppet Government's propaganda.
