The All Manipur Clubs Organisation has elected the new officer bearers for the 2005-2006 session as well as charted out the policies and programmes to be taken up in the new session.
In a statement, AMUCO named the new president as R Yangsosang Koireng and vice presidents as KT Rahman and Dolen Laishram.
The other office bearers include, NC Khuman (secretary general), Tompok Likmabam (secretary publicity), Ph Deban (secretary organisation), Z Chungsel Koireng (secretary finance) and Sarat Golmei (secy office).
Other than this, eight assistant secretaries and five executive members have also been named.
AMUCO has also decided to extend assistance to the children of Rajkumar and Ksh Kenedy for their studies.
The two laid down their lives during the agitation to protect the territory of Manipur in June/July 2001.AMUCO will also periodically extend help to S Sobita who lost a leg during the agitation.
The new office bearers and the policies and programmes of AMUCO were named and charted out during the two day conference of the organisation on February 11 and 12.The conference was held with the chairman of ZU, Imphal zone Rongmei Chandra Haomei and AMUCO advisor Th Iboyaima as chief guest and president respectively.
Spelling out its agenda for the new session, the statement said that after due deliberations, it was agreed that AMUCO will pursue the points that were raised during the five day public deliberations held in 2004, to take part in any issue that crops up from time to time, to join hands with social organisations of all the NE States, to work with like minded organisations and work for the protection of human rights, to strengthen local clubs, to ensure that the existing boundaries of the people are not disturbed and work for development.
