As part of its ongoing endeavour to provide succour to the people of Manipur the Army today launched an awareness campaign at Churachandpur district aimed at the district youth get acquainted to Army recruitment process.
Inaugurating the first such programme in the district town 59 Mountain Brigade Commander Brig RK Sharma addressed a large gathering of youth keen to join the Armed forces.
In his address the Commander encouraged the youth to join the Armed forces while emphasizing upon honour, service to the nation, glory and service privileges as the highlights of a career in the Armed forces.
Having sanitised Churachandpur Town of major underground presence, the Army has undertaken a number of developmental projects to meet local aspirations and also help the local populace.
Towards achieving this aim in the recent past in conjunction with NGOs a number of orphanages in the town area have also been provided with necessary materials and medical assistance, added a PIB (DW) press handout.
In today's campaign, lectures were delivered by Army Officers giving details of preparations required and opportunities available.
